Point of Sale: Retail · Sales

Ring it up at the counter. Close the day in the books.

From the scan to the closing, in five steps.

The article is on the ticket

Scan the barcode with the phone's camera or a scanner, or tap the article on the grid. The price, the VAT rate and the stock it comes from are on the line before you look at it.

From the scan to the closing, in five steps.

  1. Scan the barcode with the phone's camera or a scanner, or tap the article on the grid. The price, the VAT rate and the stock it comes from are on the line before you look at it.

  2. Search the name, scan the loyalty card, or leave it anonymous. Her history, her points and her open credit are on the record, and a B2B customer gets an invoice instead of a receipt.

  3. Card on the terminal, cash with the change worked out, a gift card, or two of those on one ticket. The receipt prints, goes by email, or shows as a QR code.

  4. Three lines on the ticket, three movements on the shop's stock, the moment it is paid. The webshop shows the new count too, and the reorder point knows.

  5. At the end of the day the till counts what it took, the cashier counts the drawer, and the closing (the Z, the end of day) is a journal entry in the books: sales, VAT, cash, card. Nothing is re-keyed on Monday.

The barcode, the phone, the shelf.

The till is a phone. Sofie scans the mug with the camera, the line is on the ticket, and the shelf's stock is one lower before the customer has put her card away. The same phone does the stock count on Thursday morning: scan the shelf, type what is there, the difference is the shrinkage line. No dedicated hardware to buy first; a scanner, a drawer and a printer when you want them.

One catalogue, and what a shop needs around it.

What a ticket carries, which VAT rate an article takes and how the day closes are yours to set.

Book a demo

One catalogue for the till and the webshop

An article has one price, one VAT rate, one stock per shop and one description, and the till, the webshop and the purchase order read the same record. Change the price once and it is changed at the counter and online, and a sale in either place moves the same stock.

Returns, exchanges and credit notes

A returned article comes back onto the stock and the customer gets cash, a credit note or an exchange, on the original ticket.

Loyalty, gift cards, promotions

Points per euro, a gift card sold and redeemed at the counter, a promotion that applies itself to the ticket.

Several cashiers, one till

Each cashier signs in with a PIN, and what a cashier may do (a discount, a refund, the closing) is a role.

The day, the week, the best sellers

Takings per till and per shop, the average ticket, what sold and what did not, read from the tickets as they close.

One catalogue for the till and the webshop

An article has one price, one VAT rate, one stock per shop and one description, and the till, the webshop and the purchase order read the same record. Change the price once and it is changed at the counter and online, and a sale in either place moves the same stock.

Book a demo

The same till for a bakery counter and a bike shop with repairs.

What adapts: what a ticket line is (a scanned article, a button on a grid, an hour of labour), the VAT rates it carries, whether a customer is attached at all, what the stock count is compared with, and whether the ticket ends as a receipt or an invoice. Two shops can run the till and agree on none of those.

See it on your own data

A bakery counter

A ticket is four or five taps on a grid of buttons, no barcode, no customer, mostly cash, at 6% VAT. What was baked this morning is the stock, what is left at closing is the count that matters, and the till closes at 18:30 with the drawer counted by whoever is on.

A bike shop with repairs

A ticket carries the customer's bike by serial number, the repair as a labour line at the workshop rate, the parts fitted, the deposit paid when the bike came in, and it ends as an invoice to the customer's company when she asks for one.

This is the back office.

Both shops, every till, today: what was taken and by what method, which closings are posted and which drawer is still open, what sold best this week, and the three articles that will run out before the next delivery.

See it with your own shelf

What the sale feeds.

A ticket ends on the stock, in the books and on the customer's record. Behind the shelf is the purchase order that filled it and the supplier bill that settles it; behind the closing is the ledger; behind the customer at the counter is the company that asks for a quote. The retail POS stops at the first of those. Enobase holds all three.
